Sibananda Kakoti, former Chief Manager, State Bank of India is a short story writer and dramatist of Assam. He has published eight short-story collections and one drama collection, Kendra Bihin Britta Aru Annanya Natak till the date. His short stories are published in several anthologies including Uttar Ramdhenu Yugar Golpa, Adunik Asomiya Golpa Sankalon, Earth Songs (Collection of short stories of North East India) published by Sahitya Akademy, Nirbasita Asomiya Golpa. His short story collections are-Amrityu Amrit, Gagini Pani Tur Kiman…..,Bordoisila , Pratham Jan Desapremik etc. Short stories of Kakati have been translated and published in various publication of Bangla, Hindi, Marathi, Nepali and other languages.
He attended in the Film Appreciation course and seminar in FTII Pune. He also attended the All India Fiction Writers’ Meet and other meets of Sahitya Akademi, held at Bangalore, New Delhi, Agartala, Guwahati etc. In 2009, he attended SAARC festival of writers’ representing India in Assamese Language.
He has won several awards for his works like National Award for Radio Playwright, All India Katha award for creative fiction, CENTINARY LITERARY HONOUR by Asom Sahitya Sabha.
