Shamya Dasgupta

Shamya Dasgupta is a sports journalist, currently employed with ESPNcricinfo in Bangalore, where he lives with his wife. He has written extensively on sports in some of the most prominent publications in India and overseas, and contributed chapters to a number of books of essays. He has also authored three books – Bhiwani Junction: The Untold Story of Boxing in IndiaCricket Changed My Life: Stories of Hope and Despair from India and Elsewhere, and Don’t Disturb the Dead: The Story of the Ramsay BrothersMirror of the Darkest Night, a translation of Mahasweta Devi’s Laayl-e Aasmaner Aayna, will be out shortly, and he is currently working on a book on the history of Calcutta’s Eden Gardens.
